Why Mayank Markande is not playing IPL 2024 Match 46 between CSK vs SRH?

Why Mayank Markande is not playing IPL 2024 Match 46 between CSK vs SRH? SRH won the toss and opted to bowl against CSK on Saturday.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced off in Match 46 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, April 28. SRH won the toss and decided to bowl first. SRH rested their spinner Mayank Markande during the CSK match. The change was made in light of the additional batter in their lineup. The decision was surprising given that SRH’s bowling has been nominal and their batting has been average.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, on the other hand, seemed overjoyed to be batting first

For the uninitiated, Gaikwad has been losing the toss for several games. CSK’s SRH assignment remains unaltered, and they will try to take full advantage of the home conditions in the IPl 2024 clash.

“We are going to bowl. Absolutely, you can see why it’s so loud here. Boys are pretty hype up. We’ve got Bhuvi, a really nice new ball bowler, and I just fill in where needed. We’re going with one extra batter, and Markande will miss out. Cummins stated, “We’ve always looked to bowl first; maybe dew comes into it later in the evening.”

“(On being content with batting first) Not really. I was hoping to win the toss, but we don’t have much control over it. If we put up runs against them, they will undoubtedly be under pressure. We just lost those crucial times in the game, only 2-3 overs while batting when we couldn’t capitalise. Even with bowling, we haven’t gotten those powerplay starts, and when we do, we aren’t always able to finish well. Overall, we’re pleased with where we are, but we simply want to win those crucial moments,” Gaikwad added.
