In an exclusive Interview with Sportskeeda, Jaffer said:

“I recall making my comeback in 2005. Dhoni was new to the team because he made his debut at the end of 2004 (December 2004) playing One-Day cricket.” Back then, I used to play Test cricket. We used to be seated at the back. We used to sit in the last few seats, me, my wife, Dinesh Karthik, his wife, Dhoni, and RP Singh. Dhoni used to talk a lot to my wife since we used to sit together and we all talked a lot.”

MS Dhoni’s biopic was a success, and the entire globe is aware of the 42-year-old’s backstory. Dhoni used to work for the railways and balance job and practice. But there came a time when he quit his job to focus only on his game. He made the most of his opportunity to play for the Indian national team. Jaffer went on to explain what Dhoni’s intentions and ambitions were back in 2005:

“We all know he used to work for the railways and had to travel a lot to practice his game. ” Even after all of his efforts, he was not always given the opportunity to play. I believe he left that job or something, and he used to say that he wants to make 30 lakh so that he may live the rest of his life quietly in Ranchi, and he also doesn’t want to leave Ranchi. He stated unequivocally that he will never leave Ranchi. Because he’s new to the world scene at the time, he used to say, ‘If I make 30 lakh, it will be enough for me to live quietly’.

That’s how grounded he used to be, and I believe he still is. That is the man’s humility, even after achieving so much in his work for so long. He has modest aspirations and objectives.”
