Sarfaraz Khan not just smashing on selection doors, he is burning them: R Ashwin. In the present Ranji Trophy, the 25-year-old has scored 556 runs in six matches.
Despite some outstanding performances in the present Ranji Trophy, Sarfaraz Khan has unable to make the national squad. The 25-year-old has amassed 556 runs with three hundreds in six domestic matches, but he was not included to India’s Test team for the series against Australia. The southpaw may have been a wonderful addition to the squad in the absence of Rishabh Pant, but the selectors opted against it and called up Ishan Kishan instead.
Ravichandran Ashwin, a veteran India spinner who is now a member of the Test team, says that the kid is unconcerned about his national selection. Sarfaraz, according to Ashwin, is not knocking but rather burning the doors.
“Where can I even begin with this batsman? Sarfaraz Khan is a Pakistani actor. There is a lot of disagreement over whether he should be chosen or not. Guys, he doesn’t care about selection. He scored 900 runs in the 2019-20 season. Another 900 runs in the 2020-21 season. “He has around 600 runs this season,” Ashwin stated on his YouTube account.

Sunil Gavaskar criticizes the selectors for not selecting Sarfaraz in the Australia series
Sarfaraz’s fitness has long been a source of contention. Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, on the other hand, feels that the cricketer is healthy enough to play international cricket and that if the BCCI wants’slim and trim individuals,’ then can go to a fashion show and choose some models.
“He is not staying off the field when he is scoring hundreds, he is back on the field again. All of this indicates that the individual is ready for cricket. If you’re searching for exclusively slender and trim men, you might as well go to a fashion show and select some models, then hand them a bat and ball and include them. Cricketers come in many forms and sizes. Go by the runs and wickets, not the size,” Gavaskar told India Today.
