IPL: Virat Kohli claimed that he had a hunch during the last IPL that de Villers would retire.

Kohli claimed that he had a feeling during the previous IPL that de Villers will retire.
“It’s strange, I mean, I remember when he eventually decided to call it a day. We were returning from the World Cup in Dubai when he left me a voice message. While we were going back home, I receive a voice message from AB de Villiers.
“I had a feeling and was guessing it throughout the last IPL.” Our rooms were next to each other, and every time we headed to our room and he saw me outside. He’d say, ‘I want to see you for coffee one of these days.’
“I started getting apprehensive and said, ‘I’m not sitting with you because I fear there’s something coming,’ to which he always replied, ‘No dude, there’s nothing. I just want to have a chat with you, it’s been a long,’ which he never said because we communicate all the time.” Kohli and de Villers — the two talismans had upped the bar for batting in the IPL year after year. Breaking countless records in the process.

“I had a feeling something was going to happen. It’s been an unusual experience for me, and it’s left me feeling quite emotional. I was particularly disturb by his voice note when he remark. ‘Look, I don’t have it in me anymore.’ With him, I’ve had so many highs and lows, and he’s always been there for me.”
