Washington Sundar travels over 1,200 km to attain Asian supremacy. India won the Asia Cup 2023 by a ten-wicket victory over Sri Lanka.
Team India delivered an outstanding effort in the Asia Cup 2023 final versus Sri Lanka. The team put on one of their greatest performances with the ball and easily chased down the target.
It was reported ahead of the game that star all-rounder Axar Patel would miss the tournament’s final due to niggles he picked up during India’s loss to Bangladesh. As a replacement, the BCCI announce that all-rounder Washington Sundar will be name to the final team.
Sundar, on the other hand, was reportedly in Bengaluru when he was told of his call-up. He got the call around 1 a.m. However, his passport remained in Chennai, so the 23-year-old flew from Bangalore to Chennai to recover it before continuing on to Colombo for the Asia Cup final.
However, the all-rounder was unable to contribute in the match against Sri Lanka. Despite being named to the starting lineup, Sundar did neither bowl or bat. With a great effort, the Indian team thrashed Sri Lanka by ten wickets and won the Asia Cup.

Mohammed Siraj’s masterclass propelled India to the Asia Cup title
In terms of India’s performance in the final, the team bowled after losing the toss. However, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as the Indian bowlers performed admirably. Jasprit Bumrah grabbed one wicket, Hardik Pandya struck three times, while Mohammed Siraj took six to reduce Sri Lanka to a meager score of 50 runs.
Indian openers Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill completed the job for India as they attempted to chase down the mark. Having scored 23* and 27* runs, respectively. Kishan and Gill contributed to India winning the Asia Cup 2023 by 10 wickets.
