Pat Cummins turns down Rohit Sharma’s three-match World T20 final proposal

Pat Cummins turns down Rohit Sharma’s three-match World T20 final proposal. Australia defeated India by a score of 209 runs.

Following the conclusion of the World Test Championship final at The Oval, India captain Rohit Sharma requested a three-match Test series to determine the competition’s victor. However, his Australian counterpart, Pat Cummins, has ruled down the concept, believing that a one-off match is sufficient. He used the Olympics as an example, when racers only had one chance to earn a gold medal.

Notably, India suffered a humiliating setback as Australia won the match by 209 runs. On Day 5, there were glimmers of hope that the Indian team may do something extraordinary, but Australian pacers completely wrecked India’s batting unit, causing the Rohit Sharma-led side to collapse in the morning session. Following that, Rohit advocated a three-match series. Believing that the team had work extremely hard for two years and that a one-off contest would be unfair to judge.

“I’d like to compete in the WTC Final 3-Test match series.” We worked hard and fought hard, but we only played one game. In the future WTC cycle, I believe a three-match series would be great,” Rohit remarked at the press conference.

“I believe it is acceptable. I have no reservations. Believe a 50-match series would be ideal, but the Olympics have come down to one race to earn a gold medal. Finals are held during the AFL and NRL seasons. When asked about Rohit’s request, Cummins said, “That’s sport.”
