Here’s how the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) may still make to the playoffs. CSK must win their match against the Delhi Capitals to ensure a spot in the playoffs.
On May 14, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were defeated by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their penultimate group round match. Despite suffering a setback at this critical moment in the season, the Men in Yellow have a decent chance of making the event’s playoffs.
The four-time champions now sit second on the IPL Points Table with 15 points, courtesy of seven victories and one no-result after 13 matches played, and have a respectable Net Run Rate (NRR) of 0.381. On Saturday, May 20, MS Dhoni and Co. face the Delhi Capitals (DC) in their last league encounter at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

The simple equation for the yellow team would be to win the game against Delhi
If theycomfortably secure their place in the playoffs. If they lose the game, they will finish the season with 15 points.
Assuming the worst-case scenario, which is a defeat at the hands of David Warner and company, CSK will be looking at a position ranging from second to fourth. In this case, though, they will be dependent on the performance of the other three teams in the top four- GT, LSG, and MI.
Notably, both MI and LSG have two matchups remaining, one of which is a head-to-head match. CSK will require one of the two clubs to lose at least one of their last two games, which will favor the former. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has two games remaining and is fifth on the table with 12 points. If they win their next two games, they will have 16 points, one more than CSK.
