Rajat Patidar undergoes surgery. Patidar is now out of the IPL owing to an Achilles heel injury.
Rajat Patidar of Royal Challengers Bangalore, who was previously ruled out of the present Indian Premier League owing to an Achilles heel injury, has finally undergone successful surgery, and the right-handed batter announced the news on his Instagram account on Wednesday, May 3.
On April 5, Royal Challengers Bangalore announced ‘in a piece of not-so-good news’ that Patidar will be unable to play for the franchise in the 2023 season owing to a heel injury. Patidar was previously receiving rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, and it was thought that he would be ready to join the franchise in the second half of the season, but after a series of check-ups and medical diagnosis, it was determined that it wasn’t meant to be.
Patidar posted a photo of himself lying on a hospital bed on his official Instagram account, captioning it, “Just wanted to give a quick update to all my supporters out there.” I just had surgery for an injury that has been bothering me for a while, but I’m delighted to report that it went well and that I’m on the mend! I can’t wait to get back out on the field and do what I love. Thank you so much for your thoughts and well wishes; they mean so much to me. “I’ll be back soon!”

RCB enjoying decent season
RCB have done well thus far this season under the direction of Faf du Plessis. With five wins, they are currently fifth in the IPL points table. They have a Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.030, which they would like to improve in the future.
Faf du Plessis has led from the front in the current season, scoring 466 runs in nine matches and amassing five half-centuries. He is a strong contender for the IPL 2023 Orange Cap this season.
