The four-time champions got off to a quick start with to a strong opening stand between Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, it was Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube’s destructive combo that snatched the game away from the home team. While Dube hit a 20-ball half-century during his stay, Rahane remained unbeaten at the crease, scoring 71 runs off just 29 deliveries.
Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra congratulated the veteran on his match-winning innings. He revealed that many people, including himself. Believed Rahane’s finest days were behind him following a disappointing run with KKR in last year’s edition.

When it comes to Rahane’s turnaround, Chopra believes it is due to what the Chennai-based franchise does to its players. They’ve done it before with other cricketers, and Rahane is the latest to take his game to the next level for MS Dhoni’s team.
