Mumbai Indians faced Punjab Kings in the 31st match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in a contest that saw the visitors do a phoenix rising while batting in the first innings. They scored nearly 70 runs in the three overs from 16 to 19 to post a massive total of 214/8.

In response, Mumbai Indians suffered an early setback when opener Ishan Kishan dismissed by Arshdeep Singh in the second over.
