Danish Kaneria believes Shakib Al Hasan is unsuitable for leadership. “Without a doubt, Shakib is a big player, but he’s not captain material,” Kaneria added.
Former Pakistan international Danish Kaneria has stated that Shakib Al Hasan is unqualified to manage Bangladesh. His remarks came after India thrashed the Bangla Tigers on day two of the first Test at Chattogram. Kaneria further remarked that the players do not want to play under the guidance of the all-rounder.
Kaneria voiced his wish to see Litton Das lead the team since the cricketer had achieved success against the Men in Blue in the ODI series. He also criticized Shakib’s blunders in the first innings, claiming that the all-rounder did not properly employ Khaled Ahmed.
“Yes, Ebadat Hossain had to leave the pitch because of a niggle. Shakib Al Hasan, on the other hand, didn’t bowl him much when he returned. He also did not make full use of Khaled Ahmed. His leadership abilities were lacking. These players do not want to be captained by Shakib. Litton Das may be a superior option, as seen by his ODI series victory. “There’s no denying Shakib is a big player, but he’s not captaincy material,” Kaneria remarked on his YouTube channel.

Dinesh Kaneria has some inquiries. Shakib’s participation in the starting XI
Kaneria was shocked to see Shakib play the first Test, not only his captaincy. Notably, the all-rounder had an injury before to the series and bowled only 12 overs in the first innings. The former cricketer also suggested that the side should have employed an additional bowler instead of playing Shakib.
“The Chattogram wicket is unique among Bangladeshi wickets in that it provides some help to quick bowlers. Shakib Al Hasan was out with an injury and was not anticipated to bowl much. Was it essential for him to participate? Instead, they might have added an extra bowler,” Kaneria remarked.
