The Proteas medical team has ruled South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada out of the upcoming two-match T20I series against Ireland due to a left medial ankle injury. South Africa’s team arrived in Bristol recently after winning the T20I series against England.
Rabada is one of the best pacers in the world. His injury means he will be a doubtful starter in the upcoming three-match Test series against England. The 28-year-old was unable to play in the series-clinching T20I against England. His absence in the red-ball series will be a significant blow for the visitors.

He will continue to receive medical care and rehabilitation
Kagiso progress will be closely monitored by the medical team in preparation for the Test series. Cricket South Africa has not provided a timetable for his return.
South Africa will face a tough test against a resurgent English red-ball side that has rolled over strong opponents such as New Zealand and India after some breath-taking batting displays under Brendon McCullum’s new regime.
