The upcoming five-match Twenty20 International series between India and South Africa will not be subject to strict bio-bubble restrictions. This will be the first international series in two years without a bio-bubble for the Indian team since the Covid-19 pandemic began. This means that players and their families not subject to quarantine upon arrival.

Large gatherings, however, will be avoided as a precaution, and Covid-appropriate behavior is advise. The current Covid-19 situation in India has vastly improved in recent months. The BCCI has previously suggest that there should be no bio-bubble if the current trend continues.

The IPL 2022 recently featured ten different bio-bubbles, with players required to undergo a three-day quarantine before entering the bio-bubble. Its difficult for the players because there was a lot of mental stress involved. Despite the restrictions, the Delhi Capitals camp had several positive Covid-19 cases. Nonetheless, the situation kept under control throughout the season. A successful tournament was eventually held.

Meanwhile, the five-match T20I series begins on June 9th and runs until June 19th. As a warm-up for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. KL Rahul has been name India’s captain, while big names like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah have all been rested.
