IPL 2022: Ricky Ponting, the coach of the Delhi Capitals, has commented on the no-ball issue against the Rajasthan Royals.
The Delhi Capitals returned to winning ways on Thursday, defeating Kolkata Knight Riders by four wickets; at Wankhede Stadium in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season. After the game, head coach Ricky Ponting expressed his thoughts on the no-ball incident against Rajasthan Royals; which resulted in Rishabh Pant losing 100% of his match money; and assistant coach Pravin Amre being suspends for one game.
“Look, that was all messed up. It was all incorrect in every way. The umpiring was off, but you have to go on. We are not please with our players’ outbursts and our assistant coach’s appearance on the field. That is something I have discussed with the boys. We’ve had a difficult couple of weeks here at Delhi Capitals; with a couple of COVID-19 incidents, being trapped in a hotel; and so on “After the game between the Delhi Capitals and the Kolkata Knight Riders, Ponting spoke to Star Sports.

After the on-field umpires’ decision to not award a possible waist-high no-ball, the Delhi Capitals camp became perplexed.
Powell had smashed three sixes in the first three balls of the final over; and Delhi needed 36 runs to win. The Delhi Capitals thought it was a no-ball when; Rajasthan pacer Obed McCoy bowled a full-toss on the third delivery of the over.
After that, assistant coach Amre went down to the field to speak with the on-field umpire. Finally, Obed McCoy was able to pitch the final three balls to a good location; resulting in a 15-run setback for the Delhi Capitals.
After the diversion, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Gasp was fined 100% of his coordinate expenses; whereas Shardul Thakur’s coordinate expenses were diminished by 50%. Pravin Amre was moreover fined 100% of his coordinate cash and given a one-match suspension.
