MS Dhoni’s Team India won the ODI Men’s Cricket World Cup at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai exactly 11 years ago, defeating Sri Lanka by six wickets in the final.
Team India celebrates the 11th anniversary of winning the ODI Men’s Cricket World Cup for the second time in their history on April 2, 2022, under the inspired leadership of MS Dhoni.
At the Wankhede Stadium, India had trounced Sri Lanka by six wickets in the final, sending the entire country into a frenzy.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also tweeted a post commemorating the occasion, which included the complete World Cup-winning squad clutching the trophy.

The victory was India’s second World Cup trophy. Following the 1983 Cup victory over the West Indies at Lord’s, which was captained by Kapil Dev.
