Kurtis Patterson hit 55 against Brisbane Heat, Kelly four-for help Scorchers

Kurtis Patterson: As the Scorchers defend a modest 157, the Heat’s top order blunder cost them the game. On Wednesday night, the Perth Scorchers used a hallmark bowling effort to thwart Brisbane Heat’s chase and celebrate a possibly rare home match in style.

The Scorchers’ outstanding attack overpowered the Heat with frequent wickets and held their composure against a late Heat assault to prove their prowess at defending small totals once again after recording 6 for 157.

When play began, it was a sweltering 37 degrees, but an aggressive Kurtis Patterson, who hit 55, raised the temperature to start the Scorchers’ home opener, while the Heat remained winless after two games.

It was all the more impressive considering Patterson, Munro. And Laurie Evans was only reunited with their teammates on game day after being quarantined in Sydney.

Kelly makes a great case

Jhye Richardson, the Scorchers’ spearhead, is projected to miss the majority of the BBL. But the Scorchers have exceptional pack supplies.
