Paarl And Cape Town To Host ODI Leg Of India Tour

Paarl and Cape Town: On January 19 and 21, the first two games will be held at Boland Park, followed by the series finale on January 23 at Newlands.

The three-match series, however, will be contested as a bilateral series rather than as part of the Men’s World Cup Super League. The third Test, which will take place from January 11 to 15, will likewise be held at Newlands.

Paarl and Cape Town will host a three-match ODI series between South Africa and India

The trip will begin with a Boxing Day Test in Centurion, with the second Test taking place in Johannesburg from January 3 to 7, as part of a rejigged schedule.

There had been concerns about the visit following the discovery of the Omicron strain of Covid-19 in South Africa, which has coincided with an increase in cases and hospitalizations, particularly in the Gauteng province, where India will play the first two Tests.

Because many nations, particularly inside the European Union, had put travel restrictions on southern Africa, the Netherlands had lately cut short their three-ODI trip and flown home.

Three games in the fourth round of Division 2 four-day matches were also postponed by the CSA after certain players tested positive. The one-day matches scheduled on December 16 have also been postponed until 2022.

A CSA release said:

The four T20Is that were part of the original schedule will be “rescheduled for a more opportune time,”

India is a country in Asia. A touring team, on the other hand, has stayed in South Africa for three four-day games in Bloemfontein. Monday saw the start of the third game.

It’s unclear when the BCCI and CSA would agree to play the four T20Is. As another T20 World Cup is coming up in 2022, and both sides’ schedules are currently full.
