Kolkata Police issues notice to BCCI for tickets scam. A fan filed a FIR against the BCCI, CAB, and BookMyShow for promoting illicit selling of World Cup tickets.

Notably, a fan in Kolkata filed a FIR ahead of the India vs. South Africa match at Eden Gardens, alleging that the BCCI, CAB, and ticketing partner BookMyShow had stockpiled tickets for sale on the black market.
In response to the complaint, Kolkata Police sent a notice to BCCI President Roger Binny. Requesting details on ticket sales for the event. According to the notification, Binny order to give documentation to the officer examining the charges of ticket black marketing at the Maidan police station.]
“A notice was sent to the BCCI president. Asking him to provide relevant documents and information regarding the sale of tickets. Either personally or through any competent person of his organisation to the investigating officer of Maidan PS during working hours on Tuesday. ” A member of the investigation team quoted as saying by the Indian Express. So far, the Kolkata Police have detained 19 persons, seized 108 tickets, and filed seven complaints in the subject.
