Deepak Chahar aspires to be like Hardik Pandya. Chahar believes he can accomplish a similar thing for the national team if he improves his hitting.
Deepak Chahar is one of the Indian team’s world-class fast-bowling stars that have emerged in recent years. But, due to a spate of unlucky injuries, the new ball bowler has not been able to live up to his potential and is determined about making a mark on his comeback from recovery in IPL 2023.
Deepak Chahar, who has proclaimed himself ready for the 2018 IPL season after recuperating from a Grade 3 rupture in his quad, aspires to be the next Hardik Pandya. Chahar believes he can accomplish a similar thing for the national team if he improves his hitting. Chahar has two half-centuries in 13 ODI games and is more than just a useful batsman down the order.
“The procedure is straightforward. Even when I wasn’t playing for India, I used to follow this routine, and it hasn’t changed. When I was struggling in my state team and told my teammates that one day I’d play for India, they laughed. I used to believe that if I could bowl about 140 kph and swing the ball both ways, I would have no issue putting hitters out. And if I can bat a little, I’ll always have a spot in the Indian squad – now and in 10-15 years “Chahar said to Sports Tak.

He is the world’s best all-rounder since he can do it all: Deepak Chahar
When asked about the team’s competitiveness, the 30-year-old stated that it is difficult to stand out in a star-studded lineup, but if he can contribute in all three aspects of the game, he will be a sure starter like Hardik Pandya. Chahar believes that the country’s lack of fast bowling all-rounders makes his job even more important for the national squad as the 50-over World Cup approaches.
“Since competition is fierce, you must clearly separate yourself from the crowd. Batting is an advantage for me because I’ve been doing it since I was a youngster. I was always focused on it. Last year, I was given opportunities and was able to score runs. If I am given the opportunity to make and win matches, I will give it my all.
“Look at Hardik Pandya; he can bowl quickly, swing, and bat; no one can take his spot in the Indian squad in a year or two. He is the world’s best all-rounder since he can do it everything. So it’s not just me; any player who can accomplish that will earn a spot on the squad “He went on to say.
