Gujarat Titans won the Indian Premier League in their first season, defeating Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in the final. Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Gujarat Titans, was instrumental in their victory in the IPL 2022 final on Sunday. The Indian all-rounder first bowled brilliantly, taking three wickets for 17 runs to help his team limit Rajasthan to 130 for nine in 20 overs. Hardik then came in to help steady the ship in the chase after GT lost two early wickets. Following GT’s IPL victory, captain Pandya and head coach Ashish Nehra had a lighthearted conversation, a portion of which was shared on the IPL’s official Twitter handle.
In the video, Ashish Nehra asks Hardik Pandya how he is feeling, to which the GT captain responds: “Very good. Only hit a six in the first year. We are overjoyed to have won the championship. Some people said our batting and bowling were weak, but we now have the trophy, so it’s all good.”

The Rajasthan Royals won the toss and chose to bat in the final on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Yashasvi Jaiswal was the aggressor early on, but she took one too many shots and died as a result.
Jos Buttler looked in good form again, but Hardik Pandya stopped him in his tracks. Pandya claimed key wickets of Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, and Shimron Hetmyer to leave RR reeling.
Shubman Gill led the charge in the chase with an unbeaten 45 off 43 balls. Pandya batted patiently for 34 balls before being dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal’s brilliant delivery.
David Miller came in and finished the game with 32 runs off 19 balls.
