The IPL 2022 League Phase will be held in four locations in Mumbai and Pune, with the final on May 29.

The IPL will include 70 league matches this year, with to the arrival of two new teams, the Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans.

The league phase of the forth coming season (IPL 2022) will be play over four locations in Mumbai and Pune, with the final on May 29th, according to an official release from the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

On Thursday, IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel announced that the competition will begin on March 26. With the addition of two new teams, the Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans, the IPL will play 70 league matches this year.

The BCCI also went over the format of the league phase in detail. Stating that a decision on the play-off venues would be make later.

The competition will begin on March 26, 2022, and end on May 29. 2022. with the final taking place on May 29. 2022. In Mumbai and Pune, a total of 70 league matches will be contest over four international grade stadiums. Also location of the playoff matches will be determine later, according to the BCCI.

The Wankhede Stadium and the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai will each stage 20 matches, according to the fixture schedule. The MCA International Stadium in Pune and the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai will each hold 15 matches.

All teams will play:

Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium will each host 4 matches.

Brabourne Stadium (CCI) and MCA International Stadium, both in Pune, will host 3 matches each.

The 10 teams will compete in a total of 14 league matches (7 at home and 7 away). For a total of 70 league matches, followed by four playoff matches. Five teams will be playing twice by each side. Moreover the remaining four teams will only be playing once in particular (2 only home and 2 only away).

Moreover determine the above, teams were divide into two virtual groups base on the number of IPL Championships won by each team. Follow by the number of Final matches play by each club.

The 10 IPL teams will be split into two virtual groups, as follows:

Group A: Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals,  Delhi Capitals, and  Lucknow Super Giants.

Group B: Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans

In the second group, each team will play twice, once with the teams in their group and once with the team in the same row. The teams in the second group will only face each other once during the season.
