MS Dhoni writes history by becoming the wicketkeeper with the most catches in Men’s T20s. MS Dhoni caught SRH skipper Aiden Markram to set a new world record.

The Chennai Super Kings scored their fourth win of the season in the 29th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad easily at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, Chennai.

Despite not getting an opportunity to bat during the run chase, Chennai skipper MS Dhoni was instrumental for the hosts behind the stumps in the first innings. The 41-year-old, regarded as one of the best wicketkeepers in cricket history, set yet another world record in his team’s match against Hyderabad.

Dhoni broke the record for most catches in T20 cricket. He accomplished the landmark by grabbing the 208th catch of his T20 career, surpassing Quinton de Kock, who had 207 catches. Additionally, Dinesh Karthik (205) and Kamran Akmal (172) are on the list.

When Maheesh Theekshana sent Hyderabad skipper Aiden Markram packing, Dhoni took the record catch. As the 28-year-old made room to slash the ball, he ended up with a small top edge, and Dhoni grabbed a wonderful catch with little time to react.
