After the World Test Championship Final, India will most likely host Afghanistan for a three-match One-Day International series in June. The series will provide much-needed practice for the Men in Blue. As well as further opportunities for Rahul Dravid and the Indian captain to try out new combinations ahead of the World Cup later this year. The 2023 World Cup will most likely commence on October 5, 2023, in India.
Meanwhile, the BCCI will appoint an interim broadcaster for the series. Since the media rights tender is schedule to be launched in June-July this year.

The tender procedure will be dependent on the Afghanistan trip. It is schedule to begin with the Australia series in September.
“The Media Rights tender will be release as planned this year (June-July) and will depend on the Afghanistan tour, but the process will most likely begin with the Australia series in September,” Shah said at a select-media meeting in Mumbai, as reported by Sportstar.
“The Board will consult with all stakeholders and make an interim decision (for the broadcaster),” he continued.
The Afghanistan tour, which not include in the Future Tours Programme. Will provide India with some game time and the opportunity to put together the strongest possible lineups ahead of the home World Cup. This series will most likely begin on June 16, five days after the end of the WTC Final. Heavyweights India and Australia are scheduled to clash in the WTC Final on June 7 at The Oval in London, and as the previous edition’s finalist, India will be putting their best foot forward to claim the title.
With the BCCI-Star broadcast contract expiring in March, it will be fascinating to watch if the BCCI will issue a tender simply for the Afghanistan series, as Shah stated that the process will begin with the Australia series.
