A humorous but epic remark scribbled on a placard by an Indian spectator watching the game from the stands at the VCA Stadium during the current Border-Gavaskar Trophy first Test between India and Australia had everyone in stitches.
India and Australia are now lock in the opening Test of the crucial Test series, with Day 2 proving to be a highly topsy-turvy roller-coaster ride for both teams, both with the bat and the ball.
“I adore Virat Kohli more than my wife,” said the banner, which a spectator was spotted waving from the stands. If the message wasn’t epic and amusing enough, the fact that the wife (as per a tweet from journalist Adam Collins) of the specific male fan was standing directly alongside him, roaring for team India from the stands, made the scene much more entertaining.
The event, which captured on video, had everyone laughing, and even famed Australian cricket writer Collins couldn’t help but upload a photo of the pair in the stands with the sign showing the statement on the microblogging site Twitter.
