Unmukt Chand, India’s 2012 Under-19 World Cup captain, will be the first Indian to play in the Bangladesh Premier League. After Chattogram Challengers selected him in the players’ draft on Wednesday (November 23).
Chand has already enrolled for the BPL draft. Although BCCI-contracted players are not permit to play in overseas leagues. Chand left domestic cricket in India after accepting a three-year contract with Major League Cricket (MLC) in 2022.

Challengers chose Chand in the second round of the foreign players category for the 2018 BPL season. Which begins on January 6.

The 2019-2020 champions, Comilla Victorians, chose the in-form Litton Das with the first choice in the draft. Having previously sign Mustafizur Rahman as a straight signing.
“Yes, he (Liton) played for us and but we have picked Mustafizur (as direct signing) as we wanted to make sure that our bowling strength is not compromised. In that sense you can say we are lucky to have the first call and get Litton,”

Beyond much turmoil, the Bangladesh Cricket Board ultimately managed a franchise for Dhaka as Rupa Fabrics won the franchise rights, despite paying after the deadline. Taskin Ahmed and Soumya Sarkar were among their choices.
