Washington Sundar of India took five wickets on his County Championship debut for Lancashire against Northamptonshire. After taking four wickets on Day 1, the off-spinner added another on Day 2 to record his first five-wicket haul in County cricket. He dismissed Northamptonshire’s top-scorer Lewis McManus to complete his five-wicket haul after taking the wickets of Will Young, Rob Keogh, Ryan Rickleton, and Tom Taylor on Day 1. He finished the innings with a stunning 5/76.

Lancashire’s Washington Sundar 5-wicket haul against Northamptonshire
Lancashire bowled their opponents out for 235 thanks to Sundar’s heroics.
Northamptonshire, on the other hand, came back strong with the ball and bowled Lancashire out for 132.
Pacer Jack White was the standout bowler, taking five wickets. Sundar struggled with the bat, scoring only two runs before being caught LBW by White.
Northamptonshire then lost an early wicket in their second essay, leaving them at 25/1 and 128 runs ahead of their opponents.
Sundar was not the only Indian to stand out in the County Championship.
Pacer Navdeep Saini took five wickets for Kent against Warwickshire.
Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara continued his dream season for Sussex, scoring his third double-century in seven matches. He was out for 231 against Middlesex.
In seven matches for Sussex, the veteran Indian batter has five centuries.
Umesh Yadav bowled for Middlesex in the match but did not take a single wicket.
