The Royal Challengers Bangalore won the IPL 2022 Eliminator game by defeating the Lucknow Super Giants. Advancing to the Qualifier 2, where they will face the Rajasthan Royals. Though they held their own during the chase. The game slipped away from them when RCB picked up some crucial wickets near the end of the innings, resulting in their defeat.

Gujarat Titans and LSG, the two new entrants, were very impressive throughout the league stage and made it into the playoffs on their first try. LSG had taken second place after their last league match, but RR replaced them when they defeated the Chennai Super Kings, putting the debutants into the eliminators.

Gambhir has twice led the Kolkata Knight Riders to a title and hopes to do so again this year. However, all of his excitement and joy were dashed when the team was defeated by RCB by 14 runs in the crucial match, preventing them from progressing further in the tournament.

Despite skipper KL Rahul’s 79 off 58 balls, LSG could only manage 196/3 in their chase of 208. The RCB onslaught, led by Rajat Patidar’s unbeaten 112 off 54 balls, pushed LSG to the brink of defeat, and while they came close, Harshal Patel and Josh Hazlewood’s tight overs in the dying overs sent the IPL rookies packing.

While LSG will return next season, RCB will now face the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals in the season’s penultimate game in order to secure a date with the Gujarat Titans in the final.
