“Most Important”: Josh Hazlewood on RCB Victory Over CSK. RCB pacer Josh Hazlewood called the 13-run win over CSK the’most important’ win for the team so far in the IPL 2022, as it kept them in contention for the play-offs.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer Josh Hazlewood called the team’s 13-run victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) the “most important” win of the IPL 2022 season, as it kept them in contention for the play-offs. Harshal Patel (3/35) and Glenn Maxwell (2/22) bowled brilliantly to help Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Chennai Super Kings here at MCA stadium in Pune on Wednesday.
Fighting knocks from Devon Conway (56), Moeen Ali (34) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (28) kept CSK’s hopes alive, but they were in vain as RCB’s Shahbaz Ahmed (1/27), Josh Hazlewood (1/19), and Wanindu Hasaranga (1/31) delivered with the ball.
“Most important victory thus far. We’re at the point where we need to win all of our games to make the playoffs.” Josh Hazlewood
“It is most likely the tournament’s most significant victory thus far. We’re at the point where we need to win all of our games to make the playoffs, in my opinion, and today was the first step toward that goal “According to Hazlewood.
Hazlewood went on to say that they needed to improve their bowling and batting units.
“To be honest, we’ve been flat the last three games and have some things to work on in bowling, batting, and fielding. We put it all together and held our chances, so this is the most significant victory thus far.”
Hazlewood said of his T20 form: “It has mostly been playing continuous T20 cricket for the last three years, learning things along the way in a variety of conditions and against a variety of players. Speaking with a lot of people in this camp, there is a lot of experience that comes in handy; it speeds up the learning process for me, who has only played 60-70 T20 games.”
The victory also ended RCB’s three-match losing streak and moved them to fourth place on the points table.
