Rebel leaders accuse Ukrainian forces of attempting to retake their two separatist regions through force.
Kyiv: Ukraine’s army reported the first soldier death in weeks on Saturday; and accusing Moscow-backed rebels of sharply escalating attacks that have also heighten fears of an impending Russian invasion.

Moscow formally denies any involvement in the conflict, also calling it a Ukrainian internal matter.

Throughout the eight-year war, however, OSCE European security monitors have reported regular shipments of Russian weapons across the border. In its most recent report, issued on Friday.
