Carl Crowe, the spin-bowling coach best renowned for his work with Sunil Narine, has been named as Lancashire’s new assistant coach.
Sunil Narine’s spin-bowling coach has vast experience with Sunil Narine and in franchise cricket.

Has spent the last two years as a consultant coach with Lancashire‘s spinners, filling the job left vacant by Mark Chilton’s appointment to performance director.
Crowe said on the Lancashire YouTube channel:
“I’ve loved my time working in franchise tournaments, and there’s still some potential to do some of that outside of Lancashire,”
“but the opportunity to work with players on a long-term basis and share some of their journey and development, and to be with a team for a long period of time is something that I’m really looking forward to now.”
“It was so close yet so far in the Championship, as well as the T20 quarter-finals.”This team has a lot of potentials to win games and competitions. And I believe that success breeds success. After coming so close last year, the boys are even more motivated. This year to go one step farther and win a trophy.”
Chilton said:
“We are really pleased that Carl has agreed to join us on a full-time basis. He is an outstanding coach with a wealth of experience working around the world. And he has been superb during his 18 months with us so far.
“Carl has already established excellent ties with the players and backroom staff. And he was our clear choice to be Glen’s assistant head coach from the outset.”
Graeme Welch, who had been Warwickshire’s bowling coach for the last four years, has departed the club. After spending the summer working with Southern Brave in the Hundred, he will take up the same role at Hampshire.
Meanwhile, after three seasons as Hampshire’s assistant coach, Alfonso Thomas has stepped down.
