His team suffered an intolerable defeat, but the result was undermined by violence and brawls inside and outside the stadium.

As fans flowed off the terrace, players needed a safe escort from the field.

The match in Dubai on Friday can be tense as both teams are fighting for the semi-finals undefeated.

The weekend capacity is expected from the vast foreign populations of both countries living and working in the Gulf.

“Definitely it’s always a good game against Pakistan, but this should remain as a game,” Rashid said Thursday.

“I request all the fans to stay cool and calm and just enjoy the game. What happened in the 2019 match should not have happened.”

When Afghanistan defeated Scotland with just 60 in response to the 1904 mammoth and kicked off the T20 World Cup in style, Rashid claimed four wickets and spinner colleague Musib Ullerman won five.

However, the Afghan team was threatened with a ban due to the ruling Taliban government’s strict stance on women’s sports.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) requires all member states to have male and female teams, is monitoring the situation, and will discuss the issue at a conference in Dubai next month.

“All have only the World Cup in mind, we’re playing five games and we need to win three games,” said the 23-year-old.

“We don’t think about what’s happening. We don’t think about what happened in the past. That is something that is not in our hands, it is not in our control.

“We shouldn’t think about it, we don’t want extra pressure on us. As a team, we’re just focusing on this World Cup to get better and better.”

Rashid said the team is trying to focus on the tournament.

“To be honest, we don’t have that kind of mindset, like, you have to focus on hitting so many sixes,” he said.

“But you have to adjust yourself with the wicket.”

“I think we need to play good cricket. It’s not about getting too many sixes. These grounds are very hard to hit sixes. The wickets are not as good to hit the sixes.”

Afghanistan destroyed the 11-6 and 13 borders in the defeat of Scotland in Sharjah.
However, Rashid said the team’s only goal was not to hit aggressive shots.
