Deepak Chahar, a fast bowler, and Ishan Kishan, a promising wicketkeeper-batsman, have been named to India’s A team, which will play three four-day Test matches in South Africa.
Ishan and Deepak are in Kolkata for the third T20I against New Zealand. And will depart on November 23 with the rest of the team.
PTI was informed of the development by a senior BCCI official:
“Deepak Chahar and Ishan Kishan have been calling up to the team. They’ll finish the game in Kolkata and join the A-team. Before heading to South Africa “
Ishan is being sent by the Chetan Sharma-led committee. Had only kept one wicket-keeper for the ‘A’ tour, Railways’ Upendra Yadav, by mistake. “They needed a second goalkeeper, and who better than Ishan to provide it? He’d most likely be the starting keeper now, and rightly so “According to another source,”
