Virat Kohli turned 33 on Friday, and his team gave him the perfect present in the form of a stunning victory over Scotland
That kept India’s prospects of reaching the T20 World Cup semi-finals alive.
Following the victory over Scotland, Team India players and support personnel gathered in the dressing room to celebrate skipper Kohli’s birthday, which featured cake cutting. MS Dhoni, Kohli’s mentor, was also seen pulling the ropes here, even reminding him to blow out the birthday candles.
On its Twitter account, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a video of the cake-cutting ceremony.
Virat Kohli seems anxious to cut the cake and feed it to Dhoni and the rest of the team in the video. As the rest of the teammates standing around burst out laughing, Dhoni had to remind Kohli to blow the candles.

On Friday, India and Virat Kohli had a lot to be happy about. From start to finish, it was India’s day, with Scotland conceding meekly at the Dubai International Stadium.
India used just 39 balls to reach the mark after wiping Scotland out for a paltry 85 in 17.4 overs.
India’s net run rate soared as a result. In Group 2, India (+1.619) presently has the highest NRR. But if New Zealand defeats Afghanistan in their final Super 12 encounter on Sunday, it might all be for naught.
Table-toppers in Group 1 Pakistan have already qualified for the semi-finals. India and Afghanistan are in second and third place, respectively.
