The 44-year-old former Australian cricket player Ryan Harris appointed the new head coach of the South Australia men’s cricket team, which is a significant development for the state of South Australia. He will be taking on the responsibilities left by the departure of former cricket player Jason Gillespie.
As the preseason gets underway, Harris, who has been leading the team in an interim capacity for the past few months, will take full command of the team. In addition, there is still no word on the appointment of Gillespie’s successor as Adelaide Strikers’ BBL head coach.

Ryan Harris, 44, spoke about the appointment and share his excitement at taking on the role after it was announced that he would be taking over as South Australia’s new coach.

It is noteworthy that South Australia placed fifth in the Sheffield Shield the previous season and fourth in 2022–2023 respectively. Speaking of Harris, the former cricket player started his career as a coach. Working first with the men’s under-19 Australian team at the World Cups in 2018 and 2020.
Along with stints as a consultant with the men’s team under Justin Langer’s coaching, he has also worked in the Indian Premier League with the Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab.
