On Thursday, May 2, during the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Rajasthan Royals game, a contentious call was made. When Travis Head was on strike in the 15th over of the SRH innings, the incident happened. As Head attempted to drive a more complete delivery from Avesh Khan, the ball sailed well beyond the off stump. Catching Head before he reached his crease, Sanju Samson collected the ball and threw it back at the stumps.
The SRH batter’s bat was in the air when the ball struck the stumps, according to the replay. The batter was not out, according to Rohan Pandit, the third umpire. The fourth umpire and Kumar Sangakkara were seen arguing over this decision, which infuriated the RR dugout. However, RR rallied in the next ball when Avesh bowled a similar delivery and removed Head. Head shuffled across in an attempt to play the ball down the leg side, only to guide it into the stumps.
“Their umpire once again made a terrible decision. Two more frames were presented. Irfan Pathan stated on air, “Head’s bat was in the air.”

SRH pull off last ball thriller to claim the game against RR
After winning the toss, SRH struggled in the Powerplay, losing Abhishek Sharma and Anmolpreet Singh. However, Head and Nitish Reddy’s 96-run partnership off 57 deliveries enabled SRH back from an early defeat. Heinrich Klaasen finished with a rapid inning of 42 not out of 19 balls, giving the side a competitive 201 for 3.
In the second innings, RR batsmen Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson were dismissed early as Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets in the first over. However, Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal formed a 133-run partnership to keep RR in the game. However, SRH’s bowlers made a strong return and scooped up quick wickets, putting pressure back on RR. Eventually, the contest came down to the last ball, with SRH snatching the victory.
