Stephen Fleming, CSK head coach, has provided a significant update on their star pacer Deepak Chahar’s injury, stating that it is a’minor’ niggle and that he will return to action soon. CSK, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, are preparing to face LSG in the 34th match of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday, April 19, at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.
Fleming stated that Chahar is making significant progress and is currently undergoing rehabilitation. He also stated that Shardul Thakur. Who replace Chahar in CSK’s previous match against the Mumbai Indians, performed admirably. The team has decided to bench the pacer in the upcoming match to ensure his full recovery. Notably, on Sunday, April 14, Thakur, who replaced Chahar in the lineup, did not take any wickets but effectively managed the scoring rate, conceding only 35 runs in his full quota while completing two significant catches.
“He (Chahar) is doing well in his rehabilitation. It was a minor injury, nothing to worry about. Shardul Thakur bowled well in the last match against Mumbai. So we decided to give Chahar some time to recover,” Fleming said at the pre-match press conference.
