Shikhar Dhawan will be encourage by the fact that his Punjab Kings team will play their next three matches at home. The Rajasthan Royals will visit Mullanpur next, followed by the Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans.
PBKS’ chances of making the top four will improve if it wins two of its three home matches. If they win two of those three games, or all three, they will have won five out of eight, totaling ten points.
The big tests, however, await PBKS as they travel to play their next two games away from home. The first visit will be to Eden Gardens to face the Kolkata Knight Riders, followed by a game against CSK in Chennai. While it’s possible that PBKS won’t win those games, history suggests otherwise.
Shikhar Dhawan’s team will then play two games in Dharamshala, hosting CSK and RCB in return matches. By this point, PBKS would have played 12 games and should have 14 points with seven wins from those 12 matches.
The final two games of the season will be played away from home. The first at Guwahati against the Rajasthan Royals. The final game of the season will see PBKS play SRH away from home, and the qualification will most likely be settled by then.
