Defending CSK display their batting muscles against Gujarat Titans in their second IIPL 2024 match on Tuesday, March 26 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team score 206/6 in their allotted 20 overs, with Shivam Dube again leading the way with 51 (23).
The southpaw picked up where he left off in the season’s first game, pounding out two fours and five massive sixes in his innings. In the eleventh over, the southpaw began his bat with a maximum straight down the ground against R Sai Kishore. He then flip him for a massive six on the next delivery of the over, sending the ball far over deep square leg.

Notably, Dube was the top scorer in Chennai’s first game of the season against RCB, with a knock of 34* (28) helping CSK chase down 174 in 18.4 overs to win by six wickets.
Returning to the CSK vs GT match, Chennai got off to a strong start with openers Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra scoring 62 runs for the first wicket off 32 balls. Ravindra once again shown his aggressive side, hitting 46 (20) with six fours and three sixes. Gaikwad, on the other hand, got 46 (36) points off five fours and sixes.
Sameer Rizvi shines on IPL debut
Following their dismissals, Dube maintained his momentum in the middle overs. The innings complete with some rapid cameos by Sameer Rizvi. The 20-year-old began his IPL campaign in style, hitting Rashid Khan for a maximum over deep square leg and then coming down the track to smack the wrist spinner over long off. Rizvi was removed for 14 (6), while Ravindra Jadeja added 7 (3) to assist CSK reach 206/6 after 20 overs.
