Speaking at a CHAMPS Foundation event, Gavaskar praised the BCCI for implementing the Incentive Scheme in the wake of India’s recent Test series victory over England.
The veteran batter expressed his thoughts on the importance of recognizing the efforts of cricketers competing in the Ranji Trophy, which is often regarded as a breeding ground for future international stars.
“That is a wonderful thing by the BCCI to reward those who will be playing. I would also like the BCCI to ensure that the feeder to the Test team, the Ranji Trophy, is also looked after. ” Gavaskar said on the sidelines of a CHAMPS Foundation event, as reported by India Today.
