According to Sourav Ganguly, NCA will clear Rishabh Pant on March 5. “With him, we are proceeding cautiously as he has a very long career ahead of him. We don’t want to overexcite him,” Ganguly remarked.
Prominent Indian batsman Rishabh Pant is almost ready to rejoin the league. After being involve in a horrible vehicle accident on December 30, 2022, the 26-year-old had multiple injuries. As a result, he had multiple surgeries and was ruled out of the Asia Cup, the ODI World Cup, and the IPL 2023. As things stand, Pant is expected to return in the next Indian Premier League season and could even be the team captain for the Delhi Capitals.

He will likely report to the Delhi Capitals camp. The former captain of India made it clear, though, that the management of the team will take it gradually with Pant because he is a vital member of the group and doesn’t want to rush him.
Ganguly also noted that other players are ready to lead the squad in the event that Pant is out for a few games, and that wicket-keeping options include Kumar Kushagra, Ricky Bhui, Shai Hope, and Tristan Stubbs.
“NCA will clear him because he has made every effort to get healthy. Only until Rishabh receives clearance on March 5th will we discuss backup captains. He has a very long career ahead of him, so we are going cautiously with him. We do not wish to overexcite him,” Ganguly stated to The Times of India.
“We’ll watch Rishabh’s response. As soon as NCA grants him clearance, he will arrive at the camp. Match by match, we shall see. We are unable to forecast. Kumar Kushagra is one choice for a wicketkeeper. Ricky Bhui’s season has gone incredibly well. Tristan Stubbs and Shai Hope are there,” he continued.

Ganguly shares an update on Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw was seen as the next big thing in Indian cricket after winning the U19 World Cup. Despite being given a chance to join the Test team, the cricketer did not make an impression. Shaw’s off-field actions soon gained media attention, and he was dropped from the picture. Although Shaw had a dismal season the previous year, Ganguly believes that he will bounce back this time around since the young player is more fit and is scoring a lot of runs.
“Prithvi’s batting is excellent. He played county ball and had a great season last year. He is unique in that he considers strike rate to be very important. It must be in balance. He is also becoming more fit. Last year, there was an excessive dependence on foreign players. This year, that shouldn’t be the case, the 51-year-old stated.
