‘Process-driven’ New Zealand is preparing to enter Test mode in spin-friendly Bangladesh. After the ODI World Cup, New Zealand players spent some time in Dubai before reconvening in Bangladesh.
Despite having only played one-day internationals in the previous two months. New Zealand player Glenn Phillips believes the side will have no trouble transitioning to red-ball cricket. When they face Bangladesh in a two-match series. Phillips stated that everyone on the team believes in the process and would do their best to achieve a great outcome regardless of the format.

When New Zealand lost to India by 70 runs in the semi-finals at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Furthermore, the Tim Southee-led team hasn’t played a single Test match in nearly nine months. Making it tough for the Kiwi cricketers, especially while playing away from home in spin-friendly conditions in Bangladesh.
However, the all-rounder dismissed the petition, stating that the youngsters had some rest and spent time with their families and are again fit to play. Phillips also stated that it doesn’t matter if the ball is red or white; the goal is to go out in the park and play the greatest cricket possible.
“At the end of the day, many of the boys are very process-oriented.” The process is the same whether it’s Test cricket or something else. It’s merely a game with a white or red ball when you get to the field. For us, it’s to stay in the center and continue with our current procedure.
“It was nice for the lads to spend a couple of days in Dubai. It rejuvenated us, and some of us returned home to see our family. “I think it was really good, especially after the World Cup, to have this kind of break and come out here refreshed,” Phillips was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
Meanwhile, the two-match Test series will go off on November 28 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, with the second Test taking place at Dhaka’s Shere Bangla National Stadium.
