On November 15, Wednesday, India and New Zealand faced off in the first semi-final of the 2017 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup at Mumbai’s legendary Wankhede Stadium. India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, won the toss and chose to bat first.
Several noteworthy people who had assembled to see the high-octane duel adorned the gallery. Shubman Gill’s parents were also there at the stadium, as was Sara Tendulkar, the daughter of famed Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. Notably, Gill and Sara are said to be a relationship, but neither has acknowledge or reject the rumors.

Rohit Sharma and Gill got the home team off to a flying start
Nonetheless, Tim Southee delivered a brilliant slower delivery, pitching it full and to the middle. Rohit attempt to slog it away with his feet but caught off guard by the slower pace. However, in the midst of the 23rd over, after getting a single, Gill fell down and stayed down on the ground. Gill opted to walk off the field after a remarkable performance of 79 runs off 65 balls.
