Rohit Sharma had a news conference before of India’s ODI World Cup match against Sri Lanka. Toward the end of the press conference, the Indian captain was asked if he had seen Sachin Tendulkar’s monument, which was erected on November 1st at the Wankhede Stadium.
In response to the query, Rohit stated, “Yes, we saw it when we came to practice, but couldn’t see it from close by.” The media manager also delayed our practice (laughter). But, yes, we will have a closer look at Sachin’s statue later. I have yet to see what shot that is.”
He continued, “What more can I say, they have made a statue of straight lofted shot. It’s nice, I hope you guys enjoyed it, we saw the statue, it’s fantastic.”

High-flying India take on struggling Sri Lanka
