The BCCI is considering holding the IPL auction in Dubai. The Indian Premier League auction is expect to take place between December 15 and December 19.
Dubai has already hosted a number of Indian Premier League (IPL) matches. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering holding the auction in Dubai ahead of the 17th season of the cash-rich league.
According to Cricbuzz, the richest cricket board in the world has apparently narrowed down the auction dates to December 15 and 19. The auction for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will take place a few days before the IPL auction. The WPL auction is scheduled to take place on December 9. The WPL was conducted in Mumbai last year. While the location of the 2024 World Premier League has not been announce, it is expect to be in India.
Although no formal notification has been provided to the franchisees. Indications indicate that the IPL auction might take place in Dubai. The BCCI had intended to hold the IPL auction in Istanbul last year. But it was instead conduct in Kochi. Teams have been advised that Dubai is being evaluated as a possible auction location.

IPL trading window is open
The IPL trade window is presently open, and clubs may switch players at any time. However, no news of player swaps have surfaced as of yet.
Meanwhile, the BCCI is yet to notify the WPL franchise owners of the site and dates for the second season of the five-team event. The Indian women’s team has international obligations until mid-January, and the WPL is not likely to begin until February.
The franchisees are also waiting to hear whether the WPL 2024 would be stage in a single location or on a home-and-away system, similar to the IPL. The BCCI is preoccupied with attempting to make the current ODI World Cup 2023 a memorable spectacle. The premier event’s final showdown is schedule on November 19 in Ahmedabad.
