On Thursday, October 19, star India batter Virat Kohli hit his 48th ODI century as India won by seven wickets in their fourth match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. However, achieving the milestone proved difficult for Kohli, who was batting on 73* (77) after 38 overs with India needing only 28 runs to win.

Who denied him a single on multiple times. KL Rahul claim that Virat Kohli advise him to run singles because otherwise people would believe he was playing for his milestone. However, the wicketkeeper batsman encouraged him to attain the milestone because India was handily winning the game.
“I denied Virat Kohli a single because he said it would be bad if you didn’t take singles. Because people would think I was playing for a personal milestone. ” But I told you were comfortably winning, and you got your century. ” KL Rahul remark in a post-match interview with Star Sports.
Kohli went on to finish his century with a six against Nasum Ahmed, remaining unbeaten on 103 off 97 balls with six fours and four sixes. India won their fourth straight championship by chasing down the mark of 257 in 41.3 overs, thanks to his knock.
For his stunning century, the former India captain was rightfully name Player of the Match. The star batsman is just one century away from matching Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI hundreds.
Earlier in the day, stand-in skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto of Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat first. They got off to a fast start, with openers Tanzid Hasan (51 off 43 balls) and Litton Das (66 off 82 balls) combining for 93 runs for the first wicket off 88 balls.

Ravindra Jadeja starred with the ball for India
However, after their dismissals, no other batter could bat well, and Bangladesh could only manage 256/8 in their allotted 50 overs. Ravindra Jadeja was the standout of the Indian bowlers, taking 2/38 in 10 overs, while Jasprit Bumrah (2/41) and Mohammad Siraj (2/60) also took two wickets each.
