PCB complains to ICC about disruptive crowd behavior during India-Pakistan match. The high-voltage India vs. Pakistan match has been marred by unruly crowd behavior at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
The controversy surrounding India and Pakistan’s high-voltage encounter in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 continues, as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has registered a complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for rowdy crowd behavior during the match. On Saturday, October 14, Pakistan captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan were treated to rude behavior by the fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Mickey Arthur expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of support for his team in the world’s largest stadium.
Three days after the game, the PCB eventually decided to take action against it and filed a complaint with the ICC. PCB complains and filed an official objection over visa delays for Pakistani journalists and the lack of a visa policy for supporters.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged another formal protest with the ICC over delays in visas for Pakistani journalists and the absence of a visa policy for Pakistan fans for the ongoing World Cup 2023,” the PCB said on its X account. The PCB has also submitted a complaint for disrespectful behavior directed at the Pakistan squad during the India vs. Pakistan match on October 14, 2023.”
Notably, during the match, Pakistan captain Babar booed at the toss while a viral video after the game showed the crowd chanting ‘Jai Shree Ram (Hail Lord Ram!)’ as Rizwan was also walking back to the pavilion. After the game, Arthur had criticised the crowd behaviour by terming the match as a ‘BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) event’ rather than an ‘ICC event’. He also complain about the song ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ not being play at the venue during the game.

Returning to the game, after being put in to bat first. Pakistan were bowl out for 191 in 42.5 overs after a spectacular collapse from 155/2 at one point. In response, India chased down the mark in 30.3 overs, led by captain Rohit Sharma’s 86 off 63 balls. India’s unbroken run over Pakistan in the ODI World Cup now stands at 8-0 as a result of their victory.
