On October 8, India and Australia faced off in game five of the ongoing ODI World Cup at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The eagerly anticipated match began with Australia winning the toss and electing to bat first.

Marsh was forced to leave after Kohli demonstrated superb acrobatic skills in India’s tournament opener against Australia. With this catch, Kohli currently has the most catches for India as a fielder in ODI World Cups. This was also the first occasion in ODI World Cup history that India dismiss an Australian opener for a duck.
Bumrah remove Marsh on the second ball of the over while bowling the third over of the game. As the ball drifted outside off, it clipped the edge of Marsh’s bat, and Kohli dove in first slip for a leaping catch.
Marsh’s early wicket might be a huge boost for Team India. Marsh has been in phenomenal form for the Aussies in recent months, and his wicket may put a significant hole in Australia’s desire to putting a high total on the board in the first innings.
However, Australia recently lost a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against India in September 2023. After losing the first two games of the series, they fought back in the last game. Australia will try to prevent a repeat of their previous ODI series loss to India.
