During the match against Australia, Ravindra Jadeja joined Harbhajan Singh in the elite list. India and Australia squared off in their opening World Cup match.
Following his outstanding performance in India’s opening encounter against Australia at the present ODI World Cup in Chennai, ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja joined Harbhajan Singh on an elite list.
The 34-year-old took three key wickets in the high-scoring match at his Indian Premier League (IPL) home ground. He now has 102 wickets against Australia, making him only the third bowler in international cricket history to do so. He accomplished this accomplishment in 40 matches.
Harbhajan Singh, a former India spinner, is second with 105 wickets in 37 matches. Meanwhile, England’s experienced fast bowler Stuart Broad leads the leaderboard with 128 wickets in 41 games.

India restricts Australia to 199 in 49.3 overs thanks to Jadeja’s three-wicket haul
In terms of the match, Australia won the toss and chose to bat first. India’s first breakthrough came in the third over, when Jasprit Bumrah dismissed opener Mitchell Marsh for a six-ball duck. In-form David Warner and Steve Smith attempted to maintain Australia’s innings before Kuldeep Yadav dismissed the southpaw for 41 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja joined the fray by breaking a critical partnership between Marnus Labuschagne and Smith, bowling the latter for 46 runs in the game’s 28th over. He bowled Labuschagne (27) in his second ball of the 30th over while the batsmen was attempting a sweep. In the same over, he caught Alex Carey LBW for 0 and sent Australia reeling in the middle overs.
While Jadeja was vital for India, Kuldeep Yadav (2/42) and Ravichandran Ashwin (1/34) each supplied three wickets. Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj and Hardik Pandya each took one wicket. It is worth mentioning that Australia took a conservative approach on a wicket where run-scoring appears to be difficult.
