Virat Kohli’s trademark straight drive electrifies Chennai. To begin his innings, Virat Kohli walked out of his crease and hit a boundary down the ground.
On Sunday, October 8, India opened their campaign in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 with a game against Australia at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Australia were bowled out for 199 after electing to bat first, as the Indian spinners weaved a web around their batting order. In response, the Rohit Sharma-led team was in big difficulty after reaching 2/3 in the opening two overs. Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, and Shreyas Iyer were all ejected for ducks.
The Indian innings, though, was stabilized by Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, who shared a century partnership to bring India to safety. Kohli batted cautiously to begin his innings against the Australian pace trio of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood. In the sixth over, the star batsman walked out of his crease to drive Hazlewood for a boundary down the line. The great Indian hitter beautifully drove the ball to score his first boundary of the game and get his team started.
