Williamson wants to test his surgically-repaired knee by playing a part in one, if not both the games.
“I have a strong desire to be involved as much as possible. ” Basically, I want to improve on what I’m doing now – sprinting, fielding, and time in the middle with the bat. Even when things are going great, you still have days that are a little unpredictable. So it’s working through those warm-up games to get as much out of it as I can, individually and as a team, without overburdening it. Although the load is expect to rise further, there remains some uncertainty. But it’s felt extremely fantastic in the last few weeks.”

‘We will definitely examine some of it,’ Williamson says of the potential of switching positions following an injury.
Kane Williamson knee injury during the IPL, the right-handed hitter has not played competitive cricket. He was a member of the New Zealand squad that traveled to England to play four T20Is followed by four ODIs. When he returns to the field following his injury, Williamson suggested that he may consider shifting his fielding position.
“We will definitely take some of that into account.” I normally field in the middle of the field, and that is likely to remain the case. It’s perhaps better suite to it than square of the wicket. “There could be some slippage, but I won’t be standing there if we don’t need one,” Williamson said.
